Title: Evaluation and Optimization of Gesture Acquisition Methods

Abstract: The goal of this thesis is to provide a powerful methodology and framework to the researchers working on the upper-body gesture recognition field in order to quantitatively compare the efficiency of their tracking and recognition algorithms as independently as possible of the technologies and devices used.

1) Promote clear guidelines to researchers on what sensors to use in which situation

2) Provide a methodology and a dataset allowing researchers to quantitatively compare their algorithms and gesture recognition methods

3) Promote and encourage comparisons and discussions between researchers through challenges
